Initiate, coordinate, and champion open scholarship initiatives. Serve as a primary point of contact for the Libraries’ open scholarship initiatives, including the institutional repository; open access journal hosting; and ORCID and other scholarly identity tools. Coordinate the efforts of the Libraries' Scholarly Communication Team. Collect, solicit, and manage content for Scholars Junction, MSU's institutional repository. Create, assign, and register Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for Scholars Junction content. Provide workshops, guides, documentation, instruction, and other outreach for faculty, staff, and student researchers. Participate in discussions surrounding transformative agreements with vendors with the goal of obtaining open access publishing benefits for MSU authors. Participate in discussions about open scholarship topics with academic departments and research-focused groups across MSU. Maintain awareness of current trends and tools in open scholarship and scholarly communication.
Managed the Web Technologies Unit. Designed, built, and maintained websites for MSU Libraries, its branches, units, services, and events, and for related organizations. Provided technical support and training for Springshare applications, including LibGuides, LibAnalytics, LibAnswers/LibChat, and LibCal. Provided technical support and customization for Scholars Junction, MSU's institutional repository. Customized look of and provide technical support for MSU Libraries' ArchivesSpace installation. Served as co-chair of the Libraries’ Accessibility Committee. Served on Libraries committees including Scholarly Communication; Digital Projects Priorities; Events; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Consulted with units across campus on accessibility standards and working with Drupal. Liaised with MSU’s central IT department and other campus units on interdepartmental projects and partnerships.
Served as the primary resource and manager for non-MARC metadata design, implementation, and support. Led the exploration, design, implementation, and promotion of, and instruction about, MSU Libraries' digital initiatives, including institutional repository and online open access journal hosting. Led efforts to provide data management, analysis, and archival services. Led the ASERL Deeply Rooted collaborative digital collection project. Provided technical support and training for Springshare applications, including LibGuides, LibAnalytics, LibAnswers/LibChat, and LibCal. Maintained and redesigned School's website. Performed clerical duties including answering phones, filing, typing, and mailing. Provided information to prospective students, alumni, and professionals about the School's programs. Taught three semesters of LIS 201: Introduction to Library and Information Science. Coordinated paperwork, rubrics, and resources for other LIS 201 instructors.
Taught two semesters of ANT 101: The Human Experience. Created a unique syllabus which integrated reflective journaling and fieldwork with readings and class meetings. Created and maintained a class website containing the syllabus, lecture notes, and tips for completing the final fieldwork project.
Assisted professors by grading papers and doing library work. Tutored undergraduate students in anthropology classes.
Motivated and evaluated a staff of up to fifteen development interns. Developed spreadsheets to track alumni pledges and donations. Participated in hiring and termination decisions. Solicited donations for scholarships, equipment, and faculty research by phone from alumni of USM. Acted as a public relations representative of the University.

Named in honor of Warren Francis Tracy, USM Professor Emeritus of Library Science, the award is given to a graduate MLIS student of the previous year who possesses an outstanding scholastic record, who provides evidence of distinguished service to the School of Library and Information Science, and who displays professional promise and leadership in the field of library science.
The Beta Psi chapter awards an annual scholarship in the amount of $500 to a graduate student in the School of Library and Information Science. Although financial need is considered, recipients are chosen based on their academic achievement, leadership, exemplary character, and evidence of commitment.
Lambda Alpha is a national collegiate honorary anthropology society. Requirements for undergraduate membership into Southern Miss's Beta Chapter are a 3.00 GPA in at least 12 hours of anthropology as well as a 2.75 GPA overall. Graduate requirements are a 3.25 GPA in anthropology and a 3.00 GPA overall.
Awarded to an entering Honors College scholar with a minimum composite ACT score of 30 or combined SAT I score of 1310, or National Merit finalist status.
The Honors College offers an enriched and challenging educational experience for students who exemplify such ideals as intellectual curiosity, creativity, openness to new ideas, passion for learning, and drive. The application is available to any student with a 24+ ACT (1160 SAT) and 3.5+ GPA.
I'm passionate about web accessibility and inclusive design. I love to organize information (and things!) and enjoy designing and implementing information architecture.
At home, I'm a mother of two, a bookworm, a casual RPG gamer, and a rock collector. I also enjoy crafting, specifically cross-stitch, plant art, and fairy gardening.
